In the last decade or so, attention to the now all too legendary Law of Attraction has virtually exploded. Books such as The Secret and The Power of Now have rocked bookshelves world-wide and have instilled hope in many that something ‘bigger’ is attainable. I personally have read and would also recommend both of these books- they are both worldwide bestsellers and also super cheap! Written to inspire and encourage, they truly are immensely motivational. I like to keep them on my nightstand and re-read a couple passages here and now to boost my mood and remind me that I hold the sole power to my destiny.
Many people however stop here- they buy and read the books, and then don’t actually follow through with their thinking. To attract the life we want and manifest your dreams, we need to go that extra mile. Things don’t just fall into our laps unfortunately- that’s why it’s called the law of attraction!
Hope, in this case, is not our friend. Hope is definitely comforting but it denotes desiring or waiting for something to happen. Attraction on the other hand, is making things happen- you have total control over it. Your life, the goals you achieve, where you are headed, what you want to become- these things are all in a big way “controllable” and yessss, ATTAINABLE!
In this post I outline 6 helpful steps that in time have greatly helped me come closer and closer to my personal ambitions. Along the way however, let’s not forget the importance of the journey in itself. You will climb many mountains along the way – each one coloring and enriching your life in a different way. That in itself is something ‘big’ in my opinion!

Manifest your Dreams: 6 Simple Steps
1. Make your Dream your Reality
Well number one, let’s stop calling it a dream but let’s call it a goal. Give this goal a realistic framework and place it into the present context. In other words, spell it out.
The first step is identifying your goal– write it down, paint a picture, describe it in words, whatever you want but give it its identity.
Most likely this goal will seem unattainable, unrealistic, optimistic…you name it. (Tip: the goal has to actually be feasible. Example, I would like to lose 50 lbs. in 4 months is doable. I want to become a millionaire and own my own island in one year most likely is not feasible- try increasing the time-frame!) After you have identified your goal, make a plan and devise the different steps needed to achieve your goal. Stick to a schedule with feasible deadlines- this will give you structured guidance.
Breaking down your goal will not only give you mental clarity of exactly what needs to be done and when, but it will give you the assurance that it can indeed be done- one checkmark at a time!
2. Envision your Goal as Having Already Been Achieved
This is a concept many writers have dedicated entire chapters to. I have to agree that this strategy holds true power. By envisioning the goal as already having been achieved you naturally start radiating positive and healthy energy. Day in and day out this energy will attract and translate into greater, more powerful vibrations. If you radiate good things, good things will come back.
I use this strategy to help me when I have a setback. Let’s give an example: a writer that has been attempting to publish a book for years is rejected again for the 10th time. It would be easy to start getting discouraged at this point. But if the author thinks that they are already a bestselling author they will nevertheless act with confidence, never allowing temporary defeat to translate into failure. After-all, they are already famous in their mind.
This attitude allows you to openly accept obstacles. Instead of losing determination, you embrace the lessons concealed underneath. In the case of the author above, he/she could have easily resisted the publishers’ criticism and become defensive and frustrated. But again, if success is already envisioned, feedback will be regarded more as constructive material to work on in order to move on to the next step. This is not to say that frustration won’t occur. Frustration yes, will unfortunately pave a majority of the way; what is important is that instead of giving in to we use it as motivation to grow from.
3. Clear your Mind of Self-Doubt
Has what you want been done before? Only in the case of your answer being no can you justify moments of self-doubt. In all other cases you can’t. You are just as capable as anyone else, you might not have the same bank account, the same circle of friends, the same charm, but you can work as hard as anyone else…actually you probably can work harder and guess what?? You already have an example to work from!
4. Become a “Yes-Woman”
What do I mean by a Yes-Woman? Exactly what the movie Yes Man intended. Start opening your mind to things you would have normally avoided in the past. Whether it’s a circus-play in a barn, bungee-jumping, or networking at an art gallery, something good can come from any opportunity. Now I’m not saying you have to say yes to everything, but even stupid little moments can hide great opportunity. Maybe the cousin of the dry-cleaner has something truly valuable they can pass onto you- you really just never know until you say yes.
5. Start Managing your Time Wisely
No, I don’t mean multi-tasking haha…I hate multi-tasking! Everyone says it’s a skill to have and it really makes your day more efficient… but that’s complete BS! People that multi-task do tasks quickly and poorly. Granted I’m not even able to talk and drive at the same time but that’s another story.
What I mean is learning to prioritize your day. If your goal truly is a priority, make it show through your actions. This means that whatever you need to do to accomplish your goal becomes an ultimate priority…way before getting a manicure, watching Netflix, or going on Facebook/Instagram.
Try cutting out everything during the day that isn’t truly necessary and leave it for when you will actually have time left over for the less important things- I guarantee that the time is there, you just have to prioritize.
Let me give an example. One of my ultimate priorities is staying in shape and reaching my fitness goals. People think I’m basically in the gym 24/7. The truth is that I only train 4.5 hours a week—that’s 2.5% of my week! That’s nothing! If I couldn’t dedicate a mere 2.5% of my time to my goal, then most probably I shouldn’t be calling it my priority.
6. Stop Waiting for the Right Moment
Unfortunately, there is no right moment. You can wait to have that extra time, or to have enough money, or until your child is grown up…but guess what?? There will always be something! Every moment that you wait is a moment lost. You can’t make something happen while waiting on it- you either act on it or not… it just depends on how much you want it!
Remarks
So, there it is, the 6 steps that I guarantee will help you manifest your dreams. Not only will you feel more alive and vibrant but those endless possibilities I’ve been talking about will finally come to light through the law of attraction. Believing in something and thus believing in your abilities is not easy- it takes perseverance, persistence, tough skin, positivity, and resilience….and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’s scary territory because you are literally taking that leap of faith in yourself, and no one can tell you how it will go- no one but yourself. Most people walk through life half asleep and comfortable in a mediocre, dull life. I find that way scarier! So take the reins, swallow the fear, and know that you can rise above to truly conquer and make the best of your life. You deserve it and you can do it!
